Chief Business Officer


Reports to CEO

Position based in Boston with 20 percent time spent in China

Position Summary:

 

The Chief Business Officer will be a key member of the senior leadership team.  In partnership with the CEO he or she will be and responsible for company global corporate development, business development, strategic and commercial planning.  The person will take the lead in developing company product acquisition strategies and in identifying and generating strategic and transactional opportunities to support the global positioning and growth of the company.  The person will supervise and lead global market assessment and business plan development for an existing product portfolio plus incoming product opportunities. He/she will formulate transaction models, and lead business negotiations and develop and manage strategic partnerships.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Lead the development of company long-range      planning and product pipeline strategy

Define and identify highly unmet medical needs with      high commercial potentials and developing business plans for all CANbridge      product candidates in China and key markets in Asia, Europe and Americas

Manage a two-person China-based business      transaction and analytical team and lead market assessment, full due      diligence, and business planning for incoming product and business      opportunities

Develop      deep and credible network with innovators and entrepreneurs and strategic      investors, participate in company roadshows and key investor and business      conferences

Define supply chain requirements and develop strategy for product launch      in major markets outside China

Develop and implement robust business models for enabling      strategic alliances and partnerships

Site supervisor      of CANbridge Boston office

Qualifications:

 

A minimum of      a MD/PhD degree in medicine/pharmacy or related field required. An MBA is      preferred

A minimum 15 years of business      development or equivalent experience in a best-in-class, biopharmaceutical      company with close interactions with strategic marketing or product launch      activities

Extensive experience      in global business transactions, in and out-licensing and co-development,      deal making and negotiations

Self-starter that is assertive, possesses a high degree of      self-confidence and intellectual curiosity

Proven      ability to identify/define businesses questions and issues and develop      strategic, analytical and financial frameworks to conduct analysis

Strong communication, leadership, teamwork and      interpersonal skills are required 

This person must possess a strong ability to manage multiple      projects across functional areas, and work independently when appropriate,      in teams and as a sub-team lead

Demonstrated      ability to lead and influence cross-functional programs is required

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the      ability to interact effectively with all levels of management

Professional      or cultural experience in the Asia Pacific region preferred


Languages: English, and      mandarin strongly preferred.
